I just figured we might eventually run out of space on the shared drive, so I wanted to see if anyone has an answer here.ĭespite many years of using Lightroom, the file organization/storage part of it has never been my strong suit. The edited photos I export are still a substantial size, and as long as the harddrive is connected, I can export up to the original size from Lightroom. I suppose the only thing would be that they wouldn't be accessible without the harddrive. Would it be better if I put these on the external harddrive I have connected to my computer? It shouldn't make a difference to my workflow. I do all my editing in Lightroom once I import the RAW files, but I still need to store the original files somewhere so they don't show up as "missing" in Lightroom. There are multiple angles of each piece, and the main usage is to post jpegs of the items in the online store, but it's important to be able to export larger sizes out of Lightroom if I need to, as sometimes we do print ads or billboards.Ĭurrently we store all of the RAW/Large JPG unedited images of our online store work in OneDrive in a folder I label as RAW. We photograph thousands of one-of-a-kind handmade pieces of art to list in our online store. I work for a non-profit organization in the arts sector.
